Icehouse 1-7th Floor San Francisco, CA 94111 RE: The tariff classification of a “Strawberry Garden Gift Set” from China Dear Mr. White: In your letter, that was received by this office on March 7, 2005, you requested a classification ruling. Submitted style “Strawberry Garden Gift Set” WSI SKU #6863815 is comprised of three pieces, each of which is manufactured from a double layer of finely knitted fabric of 100% cotton. Two of the pieces are an ornamented bib, which fastens together around the neck by means of fasteners similar to the VELCRO brand, and an ornamented rolled-edge cap. The third piece is an ornamented, rectangular burp cloth. The applicable subheading for the bib and for the hat will be 6111.20.6030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for babies’ garments and clothing accessories, knitted…, of cotton, other, other, other, imported as parts of sets; and for the burp cloth will be 6307.90.9889, HTS, which provides for other made up articles…other. The duty rates will be 8.1 and 7 percent ad valorem, respectively. The bib and hat fall within textile category designation 239.
