The tariff classification of two women’s sweaters from Hong Kong
NY L81145 December 15, 2004 CLA-2-61:RR:NC:TA:359 L81145 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 6110.11.0030 Ms. Marina Cheung San Francisco Sales, Inc. 385-8th Street San Francisco, CA 94103 RE: The tariff classification of two women’s sweaters from Hong Kong Dear Ms. Cheung: In your letter dated November 30, 2004, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your samples are being returned as requested. You submitted two samples of women’s sweaters that are constructed from 100% Merino wool, knit fabric. The outer surface of the garments measures fewer than 9 stitches per 2 centimeters in the horizontal direction. The sweaters extend from the shoulder to the knee area. Style 153201 features a turn down collar with embroidered designs, long sleeves with embroidered designs on the sleeve openings, a full front opening with 5 button closures, 2 front patch pockets in the waist area, and a tubular hemmed bottom. Style 153204 features a rib knit collar, long tubular hemmed sleeves with elbow patches, a full front opening, a ribbed placket and 6 button closures, 2 front flap pockets in the waist area, and a tubular hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for each sweater will be 6110.11.0030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for sweaters, knitted: of wool or fine animal hair: of wool: sweaters: women’s. The rate of duty will be 16% ad valorem. Each sweater falls within textile category designation 446.
