Porter Brightspot, Inc 315 Sculps Hill Road Auburn, PA 17922 RE: The tariff classification of a putting green cup with an insert for a flag pole/stick from China. Dear Mr. Porter: In your letter dated December 12, 2002, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You are requesting the tariff classification on an item that will be used in the sport of golf. Specifically, the product is a regulation putting green cup that is designed for the insertion of a flag pole/stick. The plastic portion is molded from ABS, while the metal part is cast from zinc and then chrome-plated. The item will be classified in Chapter 95 of the HTSUSA, as other golf equipment. You have not requested the return of your sample. The applicable subheading for the putting green cup with an insert for a flag pole will be 9506.39.0080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for golf clubs and other golf equipment; parts and accessories thereof: other…other. The rate of duty will be 4.9 % ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
