Box 90063 Allentown, PA 18109 RE: The tariff classification of a strap and a handle from Taiwan. Dear Mr. Billowitch: In your letter dated March 14, 2001, on behalf of A. Rifkin Company, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The samples submitted are a strap and a handle. The strap is made of a web textile fabric panel. Attached at each end is a plastic snap hook. It features an adjustable plastic buckle and plastic shoulder pad. The handle is constructed of woven textile fabric panel sewn over foam padding. It is unfinished at one end and the other end features a plastic fastener. The applicable subheading for the strap and handle will be 6307.90.9989, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other made up articles . . . Other. The rate of duty will be 7 percent ad valorem. At the present time there are no visa or quota restrictions for articles classifiable under subheading 6307.90.9989, HTS, from Taiwan. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
