Box 10001 Dallas, Texas 75301-0001 RE: The tariff classification of a men’s garment from Pakistan. Dear Ms. Mobley: In your letter dated December 18, 2000, you requested a classification ruling. The provided sample will be returned as per your request. Style 2F00130414 is a men’s underwear singlet constructed of white, 1 x 1 rib knitted 100% cotton fabric. The close fitting garment features a scooped front neckline, a rounded rear neckline, oversized armholes, capping on the shoulder straps, neckline and armholes, and a hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for style 2F00130414 in white only will be 6109.10.0007, HTS, which provides for T-shirts, singlets, tank tops and similar garments, knitted or crocheted: of cotton . . . men's or boys': underwear: singlets, all white, without pockets, trim or embroidery. The duty rate will be 17.8 percent ad valorem. Style 2F00130414 falls within textile category designation 352. Based upon international textile trade agreements products of Pakistan are subject to quota and the requirement of a visa. The designated textile and apparel categories and their quota and visa status are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes. To obtain the most current information, we suggest that you check, close to the time of shipment, the U.S. Customs Service Textile Status Report, an internal issuance of the U.S. Customs Service, which is available at the Customs Web site at www.customs.gov. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
