Moreno Customs Compliance International Automated Brokers, Inc. 1655 St. Andrews Cove San Diego, California 92173 RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s dress from Mexico Dear Mr. Moreno: In your letter dated July 12, 1999, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Harkham Industries dba Johnathan Martin. The submitted sample, style number 4530400, is a woman’s straight, pullover dress manufactured from knitted fabric composed of 80 percent acrylic, 14 percent wool, and 6 percent mohair. The dress extends to the knee and features three-quarter length sleeves. The dress also has a straight, hemmed bottom. The submitted sample will be returned under separate cover. The applicable subheading for the dress will be 6104.43.2010, which provides for dresses; of synthetic fibers; other; women’s. The rate of duty will be 16.5 percent ad valorem. The dress falls within textile category designation 636. As a product of Mexico, the dress is neither subject to quota nor the requirement of a visa. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
