Winne & Son, Inc. 44 North Front Street Philadelphia, PA 19106 RE: The tariff classification of polypropylene rope from Guatemala. Dear Mr. Iezzi: In your letter dated March 15, 1998, received April 23, 1998, you requested a classification ruling. A representative sample was submitted which you identified as a polypropylene monofilament rope. The diameter is 1/2 inch and it is of three strand construction. It is colored yellow. The applicable subheading for the rope will be 5607.49.2500, HTS, which provides for twine, cordage, ropes and cables, whether or not plaited or braided, ..., of polyethylene or polypropylene, other, other, not braided or plaited, other. The duty rate is 20.5 cents per kilogram plus 11.1 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
