The merchandise is rim locks for doors and parts of locks. All of these items are made of brass. The rim locks come in three styles, the 5600, 5700 and 5630/5640 Series. Each of these items is key-operated. The parts include the no. 5754 key plate, the no. 6755 cylinder cover plate, the 6772 key plate cover, the 5600 series rim lock keepers, reverse bevel strikes, and scuff plates. Your brochure also shows a dummy rim lock, which does not actually operate as a lock. The applicable subheading for the rim locks will be 8301.40.6030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for padlocks and locks, of base metal, other locks, other, door locks, locksets and other locks suitable for use with interior or exterior doors. The rate of duty will be 5.7 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the rim lock keepers and reverse bevel strikes will be 8301.60.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for padlocks and locks, of base metal, parts. The rate of duty will be 3.4 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the dummy rim lock, key plate cover, key cover cylinder cover plate and scuff plates will be 8302.41.9045, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for base metal mountings, fittings and similar articles, suitable for furniture, doors, staircases, windows, blinds, coachwork, saddlery, trunks, chests, caskets or the like, other mountings, fittings and similar articles, suitable for buildings, other, other, suitable for interior and exterior doors, other. The rate of duty will be 3.8 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
