The merchandise is cabinet hardware and switchplates of different materials. The first group of items was cabinet knobs. Each cabinet knob is solid brass, and named according to its design: Colonial (catalog nos. 4650/55/60); Classic (catalog nos. 4700/02/04/06/08/09); Rope (catalog nos. 4645/46); Ornamental (catalog nos. 4929/31/32); Beaded (catalog nos. 4984/85/86); Octagonal (catalog nos. 4934/35/36); Oval (catalog nos. 4910/13/39); Decorative Oval (catalog nos. 4915/17/05/16); Beehive (catalog nos. 4640/41); Melon (catalog nos. 4980/81/82); Pendant (catalog no. 4950); Convex Band (catalog nos. 4617/18); Stepped Band (catalog nos. 4627/28); Spherical (catalog nos. 4960/61/68); Contemporary (catalog nos. 4614/15, 4450/51/52); Modern (catalog no. 4610); Cylindrical (catalog nos. 4621/22/24/25); Stepped Cylindrical (catalog nos. 4633/34). In addition, four new designs are listed as catalog nos. 4720/21/22/23. The second group is solid brass cabinet pulls. These are designated as: cabinet pulls (catalog nos. 4662/64/66, 4670/71/72/74/76/78/79, 4717/18, 4962/63/64/66/67, 4454, 4724/25 ); Offset (catalog nos. 4682/84/86); Square (catalog nos. 4714/15/16). The third group of items included in the descriptive literature is solid brass back plates and bases for cabinet knobs and cabinet pulls in various designs (catalog nos. 4900/01/02/03, 4735/37/39, 4965, 4989, 4941/42/43). The applicable subheading for the brass cabinet knobs, pulls, bases and back plates will be 8302.42.3065, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for base metal mountings, fittings and similar articles, suitable for furniture, doors, staircases, windows, blinds, coachwork, saddlery, trunks, chests, caskets or the like, other mountings, fittings and similar articles, other, suitable for furniture, other. The rate of duty will be 3.7 percent ad valorem. Your inquiry does not provide enough information for us to give a classification ruling on knobs and pulls made of more than one material. Your request for a classification ruling should include a sample of each of those items, a breakdown by value of each component material, and a breakdown by weight of each metal. The switch plates are designated Classic Square Bevel (catalog nos. 4775/76/77/78), Special Function (catalog nos. 4753/59/64/74), Colonial (catalog nos.4755/56/57/65/66/67/68/80/81/82/83), Colonial Design-Special Function (catalog nos. 4758/69/84), and Contemporary Square Bevel (catalog nos. 4740/41/42/43/54). The applicable subheading for the brass switch plates will be 7418.19.2090, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for table, kitchen or other household articles, of copper, other, other, of copper-zinc base alloys (brass), other. The rate of duty will be 3.1 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
