Dear Mr. Mann: In your letter dated 10/20/97 you requested a tariff classification ruling for a glass/porcelain bird bell. The sample provided is a composite article approximately 5 1/2 inches high consisting of a glass bell with a porcelain bird figurine attached to the top. Inside the bell is a glass ball clapper hanging from a 2 inch brass chain. The bird bell is valued at $2.35 each inclusive of a $0.24 commission. The applicable subheading for the collector bird bell will be 7013.99.50 which provides for "Glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office indoor decoration or similar purposes......Other: Valued over $.30 but not over $3.00 each." The rate of duty will be 30%. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
