Dear Ms. Wong: In your letter dated March 10, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The product is mushroom soy sauce in plastic containers holding 5 pounds, net weight, 12 containers to a case. The applicable subheading for the mushroom soy sauce will be 2103.10.0000, HTS, which provides for sauces and preparations therefor...soy sauce. The rate of duty will be 3 percent ad valorem. Your inquiry does not provide enough information for us to give a classification ruling on the diced garlic and the dried red pepper. Your request for a classification ruling should include a complete description of the manufacturing process for both products. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
