NY B81700 February 3, 1997 CLA-2-83:RR:NC:MM:113 B81700 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 8306.29.0000 Ms. Kristen Gibson Bath & Body Works Three Limited Parkway Columbus, OH 43230 RE: The tariff classification of a centerpiece from Mexico Dear Ms. Gibson: In your letter dated January 20, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise is a centerpiece made of wrought iron. The centerpiece has a bowl-shaped body and rests on a circular base. Attached to the rim of the bowl are 4 small rings that hold glass votive cups. The centerpiece is approximately 10 inches in diameter and 7 inches high. It will be used as decorative accessory in the home. The applicable subheading for the centerpiece will be 8306.29.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for statuettes and other ornaments,of base metal, other. The general rate of duty will be 2 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
