Arango, Inc. 1516 E. 8th Avenue Tampa, Florida 33605 RE: The tariff classification of rubber coated gloves from Malaysia. Dear Mr. Alberdi: In your letter dated November 8, 1996, filed on behalf of Lee Fisher International, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample, style LF-R010, is a gauntlet style string knit glove with a heavy compact rubber coating the entire surface. The rubber coating exceeds 50 percent of the weight of the glove. The glove features a knit sewn-in pile fabric lining and an open cuff with coated fabric capping. The applicable subheading for the glove will be 6116.10.6500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Gloves, mittens and mitts, knitted or crocheted: impregnated, coated or covered with plastics or rubber: other: without fourchettes: other. The rate of duty will be 12.6 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
