The tariff classification of the "Nickel and Dime Pool" game from India.
NY A80850 March 04, 1996 CLA-2-95:RR:NC:FC:224 A80850 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 9504.90.9080 Premdeep Singh Puffin Corp. C/O Jeremy S. Madaras 818-5 Old Boalsburg Rd. State College, PA 16801-6100 RE: The tariff classification of the "Nickel and Dime Pool" game from India. Dear Mr. Singh: In your letter dated February 23, 1996, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You are requesting the tariff classification of a game called "Nickel and Dime Pool". The product is a game played on a miniature pool table (without legs). Instead of using pool balls and a cue stick, it is played by flicking coins with one's fingers. The game equipment consists of a plastic or wood miniature pool table, a plastic rack, metal coins, and a plastic coin pouch. The rules are explained in detail in the reference material for the game. The rules are similar to the rules in a traditional pool game, and it is not nesessary to elaborate on the rules of "Nickel and Dime" pool, since the rules in no way affect the tariff classification of the game. The sample is being returned, as requested by you. The applicable subheading for the "Nickel and Dime Pool" game will be 9504.90.9080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for "Articles for arcade, table or parlor games...parts and accessories thereof (con.): Other: Other: Other...Other". The rate of duty will be Free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If you have any questions regarding the ruling, contact National Import Specialist Thomas A. McKenna at 212-466-5475. Sincerely, Roger J. Silvestri Director National Commodity Specialist Division
