Safety Zone: New York Harbor and Hudson River Fireworks.

The Coast Guard proposes to establish five permanent safety zones for fireworks displays located on Upper and Lower New York Bay, the Hudson River, and Raritan Bay. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the events. This action establishes permanent exclusion areas that are only active prior to the start of the fireworks display until shortly after the fireworks display is completed, and is intended to restrict vessel traffic in a portion of Upper and Lower New York Bay, the Hudson River, and Raritan Bay.
