SUMMARY: The Coast Guard is establishing a safety zone for all navigable waters of the Kanawha River between mile markers 58.1 and 59.1. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from the potential hazards created by a fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by Captain of the Port Marine Safety Unit Huntington. DATES: This rule is effective from 8:45 p.m. on June 30, 2023, through 10:15 p.m. on September 4, 2023.
