SUMMARY: The Coast Guard is establishing 51 safety zones for marine events within the Captain of the Port Sector Northern New England area of responsibility for regattas, swim events, power boat races, row and paddle boat races, parades, and firework displays. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the events. Entry into, transit through, mooring or anchoring within these zones is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector Northern New England. DATES: This rule is effective in the CFR on June 8, 2010 through 11:59 p.m. on September 29, 2010. This rule is effective with actual notice for purposes of enforcement beginning at 8 p.m. on July 3, 2010. Comments and related material must reach the Coast Guard on or before July 23, 2010. Requests for public meetings must be received by the Coast Guard on or before June 29, 2010.
