Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of tube and spout brushes from Taiwan. Dear Ms. Pendris: In your letter dated May 17, 2010, you requested a tariff classification ruling. As you requested, the sample provided will be returned to you. Samples and description have been provided for item 64570, a set of three tube and spout brushes. Each brush consists of metal wire covered with nylon bristles for cleaning coffee spouts, water bottles, cruets, vases and other items with narrow necks or corners. The brushes feature polystyrene handles and come in three sizes – 9 inch medium head, 8 inch thin head and 6.5 inch flexible double loop. The applicable subheading for the tube and spout brushes will be 9603.90.8050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Brooms, brushes…Other: Other, Other”. The rate of duty will be 2.8% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
